Offering 9 B.A. degree choices, the Worldwide Studies Program challenges college students to explore the processes and penalties of interactions amongst establishments and people at the worldwide and national, and international and local levels. Whereas at BW, she studied in Ecuador, interned in Cambodia and mentored college students as a global scholar ambassador — all while working in the BW profession services division. They embody lessons in anthropology, history, humanities, and political science.
Global Consciousness Abilities: The Partnership for 21st Century Expertise defines world awareness as “the ability to understand global points; learn from and work with folks from numerous cultures; and perceive the cultures of other nations, including the usage of non-English languages.” By taking courses in numerous disciplines (especially in the departments of Economics, History, Trendy and Classical Languages, and Political Science), students are expected to exhibit awareness of world points.
Our curriculum cultivates skills that are translatable throughout continents and cultures, and provides undergraduate students with the mandatory background in global affairs and intercultural communications, in addition to career-focused concentrations.
Others pursue superior levels in international relations and public policy at universities similar to Syracuse, Georgetown, George Washington, American, University of California San Diego and London School of Economics. Worldwide research is offered as a serious and minor centered on understanding global interactions.
Under the Previous Program (previous to Fall 2018) 4 programs will be double counted for those students following the adjunct major in International Studies who are enrolled in the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences. This program combines all requirements from the International Research bachelor’s and master’s, together with proficiency in a international language.
